The Mazu Procession: to the Confucian Shrine

Watch as this procession that dates back to the Edo Period unfolds and Maso, the god of safe voyages, is carried from Kofukuji Temple to the Confucian Shrine and then back again.
On Sunday, February 10th, the procession begins at Kofukuji Temple and winds it way down to Chinatown and to the Confucian Shrine. Then, on Sunday 17th, Maso is carried back from the Confucian Shrine to Kofukuji Temple.
NB: An admission fee applies for Kofukuji Temple. Entrance to the Confucian Shrine before 5PM during the lantern festival also requires an admission fee.
